Not your typical restructuring firm. Not your typical Director role.

For 20 years, Cor Cordis has been working with mid-market businesses at their most critical moments. But here’s what makes us different: we don't see insolvency as the inevitable outcome. We see it as the last resort.

What we do

We help businesses facing complex financial challenges find a way forward. Sometimes that's restructuring. Sometimes it's a turnaround. Sometimes it's finding an innovative solution no one else considered. Our Sydney team specialises in using the skills gained from managing insolvencies to avoid them wherever possible, preserving not just profitability, but privacy and reputation as well.

We work across all sectors: financial services, manufacturing, retail, property, construction, mining, and agribusiness. Every client is different. Every situation is unique. So the solutions need to be, too.

Job description

What you’ll be doing

As a Director in our Sydney team, you will lead complex engagements and shape outcomes for our clients at critical moments. Your role will span:

Client relationship management and business development

Liaising and negotiating with creditors, debtors, and legal representatives to achieve the best possible outcomes. You will identify new business opportunities and contribute to the firm’s growth by leveraging client relationships and your market reputation.

Financial analysis and strategic advice

Analysing and interrogating financial information to provide clients with restructuring and strategic plans that preserve value and unlock opportunities. You will build and review financial models to assess business viability, undertake detailed forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis and deliver data-driven insights that shape restructuring strategies.

Leadership and mentorship

Actively leading and mentoring junior staff, providing guidance and support to develop their technical and business skills. You will collaborate with the team to create innovative responses to client challenges, delegate effectively and foster an environment built on trust.

Compliance and governance

Ensuring work plans and recommendations comply with relevant laws and professional standards. You will identify and manage risks associated with insolvency and restructuring engagements while maintaining current knowledge of industry trends and regulatory changes.

Desired skills and experience

Who you are

You bring at least seven years of experience in restructuring and insolvency, along with a business or accounting-related degree (or equivalent). You are CA or CPA qualified, with ARITA qualifications either obtained or in progress.

You demonstrate strong technical capability, assertive communication skills, and excel in both written and verbal communication. You have a strong work ethic, thrive in a collaborative team environment and bring proven leadership experience or clear ambition to step into a leadership role.

Most importantly, you are someone who looks beyond the conventional answer, who wants to understand the full picture before recommending a path forward.

Why Cor Cordis

We are a leading independent advisory and restructuring firm with national presence across Melbourne, Perth, Brisbane, and Sydney. Intentionally mid-sized, you will work directly with senior leaders and see how your contributions shape outcomes. We are values-driven in everything we do: we embrace differences, lead with integrity, and believe together we succeed.

Our approach is collaborative, not hierarchical. We value fresh perspectives and diverse thinking. We believe the best solutions come from understanding the business as deeply as the numbers.

What we offer

  • Bonus leave: Two weeks bonus leave on top of annual leave (can be taken as leave or paid as a financial bonus).
  • Parental leave: 18 weeks paid parental leave for primary carers, two weeks for secondary carers, with guaranteed flexible return to work.
  • Flexibility: Flexible working arrangements and support for work-life balance.
  • Support: Both your professional and personal skills as you progress your career, leveraging different learning methods and providing financial support for professional memberships.
  • Giving back: One day paid volunteer leave supporting our community partner Starlight Children’s Foundation, or a charity of your choice.

Application deadline: 13 February 2026
