Melanie joined Cor Cordis' Perth office in 2023 as a director, bringing over 12 years of experience in corporate advisory and turnaround. Melanie has worked on numerous matters across Australia, having been based in both Perth and Adelaide. She has extensive experience in the sectors of aged care, mining, and disability services, having worked on several complex restructuring issues for multiple organisations in these industries. Her experience extends across all types of formal and advisory appointments.
Recently, Melanie was a key team member that achieved the successful restructure of Mahercorp Pty Ltd, trading as Urban Edge Homes and Eight Homes. Through the mechanism of a Deed of Company Arrangement and Creditors’ Trust, the Administrators secured the completion of 780 homes under construction. In addition, they secured ongoing employment for 200 staff.
A Melbourne-based home builder that appointed Administrators in April 2023.Continued to trade on the business in a limited capacity whilst concurrently pursuing an EOI sales campaign. This resulted in successfully implementing a Deed of Company Arrangement involving a Creditors’ Trust, which allowed the business to continue trading and preserving ongoing employment.
The liquidation of a large ASX-listed Perth-based agri-business. Through its wholly-owned subsidiaries, GSL established, sold, and managed approximately 43 agricultural-managed investment schemes. Finance for investing in the schemes was offered through its wholly-owned subsidiary, Great Southern Finance Pty Ltd. Worked with our lawyers and litigation funder to successfully recover a confidential settlement sum, resulting in a return to creditors in the liquidation.
The liquidation of a large ASX-listed Perth-based engineering, construction, and asset management service provider. Investigated and pursued complex litigation claims against former Directors and Auditors.
Managed the successful sale of a high-end residential aged care facility through an administration process. Achieved a successful outcome, and aged care residents could remain in their homes.
